President & CEO, Co-founder
As President & CEO, Ahmed is responsible for product and operational strategy and execution for SquareTrade. Prior to co-founding SquareTrade with Steve Abernethy in 1999, Ahmed was a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. where he worked with financial services and e-commerce clients. Ahmed graduated from Harvard Business School as a Baker Scholar and has an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering. Before business school, he was a systems analyst at Procter & Gamble where he implemented large ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems.
Chief Financial Officer
Mark leads SquareTrade’s finance organization, including the accounting, finance and analytics teams. Prior to joining SquareTrade, Mark was CFO at KIXEYE, Inc., a leader in mobile gaming, and LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc., a leader in children’s educational entertainment. Earlier in his career, Mark held a variety of financial leadership roles at Microsoft Corporation. He began his career in Deloitte in Chicago, IL working with clients across technology, manufacturing, distribution, and consumer/retail industries. Mark is a CPA (inactive) and graduated from Indiana University.
VP, Revenue and Operations
As VP, Revenue & Operations Brad leads SquareTrade's North American account management, field sales, sales ops and channel marketing teams and is responsible for delivering on SquareTrade's revenue/P&L KPIs. Brad also leads cross-functional teams responsible for global strategy, product development, and business operations. Previously, Brad served as SquareTrade's General Counsel where he led SquareTrade's legal and compliance teams, which supported all aspects of SquareTrade’s domestic and international businesses, and managed SquareTrade's product insurer relationships. Brad has a JD from Loyola Law and a BA from UC San Diego.
Chief Services Officer
As Chief Services Officer, Vince leads SquareTrade's product, supply chain and customer experience organizations. He is responsible for innovation and end-to-end service delivery for SquareTrade's industry-leading service. Previously, Vince led international expansion efforts as Managing Director of SquareTrade Europe, founding and growing SquareTrade's London office. Prior to crossing the pond, Vince spearheaded the company's consumer brand, public relations, and direct marketing initiatives as VP of Marketing. Vince joined SquareTrade as the company's second employee, and early in his career served in a number of key roles in product management, operations, and marketing. He holds a B.A. in Literature from Northwestern University. Vince was named one of Dealerscope Magazine's 40 Under 40 - 40 men and women representing the industry's best and brightest who are recognized for their achievements early in their careers.
Vice President, Client Strategy
Phil leads the management and growth of the company's channel partner efforts, including client account management and field sales operations. Phil has over 17 years of experience developing and managing warranty and related services for consumer electronics retailers and manufacturers. Prior to joining SquareTrade, Phil held senior level management positions with Assurant Solutions, Warranty Corporation of America, and Warranty Company of Canada. Phil received a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
Vice President, Business Development
Mike manages SquareTrade's new business initiatives as well as strategic relationships with national retailers. Throughout his more than 20 years in the warranty and consumer electronics industries, Mike has worked alongside the biggest names in retail and manufacturing, including Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Costco, and Target. Before joining SquareTrade, Mike held senior-level sales management positions at Sony Corporation of America and worked as SVP of Sales at The Harman Consumer Group and as VP of Channel Sales at CA Technologies. He has also held executive-level sales and client services positions at Warranty Corporation of America and NEWAsurion. Mike received his B.A. in Political Science from Widener University.
Vice President, Business Development
As VP of Business Development, Mark focuses on securing new points of distribution and expanding SquareTrade's presence within current partners. Mark has built his career within consumer electronics space and has spent the past seven years specializing in the mobile category. Prior to joining SquareTrade, Mark served as Director of Outbound Marketing at Microsoft, where he focused on global accounts. Previously, he served as Director of National Accounts at T-Mobile, where he oversaw management for such accounts as Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Costco, Best Buy, and Target. Mark holds B.A. in both Marketing and Management from Eastern Washington University.
Chief Information Officer
As Chief Information Officer, Zuqair leads the global teams responsible for Product Management, Software Engineering and Information Technology. Zuqair brings a passion for creating and developing organizations committed to excellence along with a solid enterprise engineering background and can be credited with rebuilding the company’s technology team with a focus on high performance, using modern agile practices and continuous integration. Zuqair joined SquareTrade during the early stages of the company and was part of the original team that rolled out SquareTrade's first protection plan. Early in his career he served in a number of key roles in technology and product management. He also led the implementation of our first major consumer electronics retailer, and has continued to play a key role in implementing every new SquareTrade partner since then. He also held several technology and product strategy positions at the company. Zuqair holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, where he graduated with distinction and honors.
Managing Director, Europe
As SquareTrade's Managing Director for Europe, Kevin is responsible for driving the company's growth and international expansion. Before joining SquareTrade, Kevin served as Commercial Director for Best Buy Europe, where he developed the company's multi-channel launch strategy. Previously, he served as CEO for Geek Squad UK, where he was responsible for creating the joint venture between Best Buy and Carphone Warehouse. Additionally, he oversaw the launch of a number of mobile virtual network operators across Europe, including the very first one within Spain. Kevin began his career at Reebok International and later at Accenture, where he served as a management strategy consultant. Kevin received his undergraduate degree from Aston University (UK) and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Vice President, People
Josephine is responsible for all things related to people at SquareTrade. That includes building and motivating a team of top talent, as well as nurturing the company's unique culture. Prior to SquareTrade, she served as director of human resources at Nextag.com, the leading online comparison-shopping site with nearly half a billion visitors per year. In that role, she was responsible for driving global initiatives such as talent acquisition, employee engagement, and talent development. Josephine earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of California, Davis.
Vice President / Global Creative Director
Jason leads SquareTrade's creative team and is responsible for bringing the brand to life in retail, direct, press, social, digital, wherever it touches consumers, from San Francisco to Copenhagen. Before joining SquareTrade, Jason was Senior Creative Director at Yahoo! and Creative Manager at Target. He has also been a Creative Director/Writer at ad agencies including Arnold Worldwide, Ingalls Moranville, and Preston Kelly, where he created award-winning campaigns for brands like VW, General Mills, General Motors, Guggenheim, and FOX Sports. Jason's work has been recognized by Communication Arts, One Show, Emmy's, Effies, ADDYS, and Creativity. He graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in journalism.
SVP, Supply Chain & Operations
Wini leads the supply chain organization at SquareTrade, responsible for service strategy and operations delivered through our network of reverse logistics providers. Wini is passionate about helping organizations re-architect their operations to better position themselves for growth. Prior to joining SquareTrade, Wini was a management consultant at ZS Associates and Infosys Consulting, driving transformations in product operations, customer engagement and overall brand performance in retail, tech and biotech. Wini began her career at Nokia (Alcatel Lucent), earning a Bell Labs President’s award for supply chain excellence. Wini holds an M.B.A. and MS degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management as the Intel Noyce Memorial Fellow, as well as MS and BS degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
Vice President, Commercial Operations Europe
Based in London, Colin is responsible for all commercial and business operations for SquareTrade in Europe and has played a significant role in the growth of the company’s international business. Colin has extensive experience in the mobile insurance and telecoms sectors having previously worked with Asurion, Carphone Warehouse, Geek Squad and Talk Talk in a variety of growth roles. Colin is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in the UK, trained with Arthur Andersen, and has a BSc in Economics from Warwick University.
Vice President, Customer Experience
The customer experience serves as John’s North Star. He has built scalable customer service and operations teams throughout his career and strives to do the same at SquareTrade. John started his career at US West (now Centurylink) before moving to Silicon Valley with Versity.com. He joined the founding team of StubHub, where he held marketing, sales and operations roles for the fast growing start-up. Eventually he built and ran StubHub’s award-winning customer service department that earned best-in-class customer satisfaction and net promoter scores. John also built the customer service team at Rocket Lawyer and overhauled customer service at Viagogo, where he most notably opened an operations center in Ireland to support the company’s global growth. John holds bachelor’s degrees in history, political science and English from the University of Michigan.
VP, Channel Marketing
As VP of Growth Strategy, Jonathan leads product, channel development and go-to-market strategies for SquareTrade's mobility, Direct-to-Consumer, and non-traditional distribution channels in North America. Jonathan joined SquareTrade in 2012 as an early marketing hire, where he helped SquareTrade build out its partner marketing function and win, launch and grow many of its marquee channel partnerships. During his 7+ years at SquareTrade his role has expanded rapidly— moving from a marketing specialist to VP in under five years and holding a number of different marketing and strategy roles. Jonathan holds a degree in Public Communications from the University of Vermont, where he graduated in 2009 with honors.
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Karl is responsible for SquareTrade’s North American business, including channel partnerships and marketing, as well as supply chain and customer experience. Before joining SquareTrade, Karl was SVP and GM of Consumer Brands at Shutterfly, Inc., and President of Motif, Inc., a high-end outsourced enterprise service provider. Karl also held several leadership roles at eBay, including serving as GM of Technology & Media categories in the U.S., and Chief Operating Officer of MicroPlace—an innovative online marketplace for microfinance investments. Karl also served as VP of International Operations for e-commerce start-up Alibris, and was a management consultant in Deloitte’s Emerging Markets practice. Karl received his undergraduate degree from Duke University, an M.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
VP, Business and Channel Strategy
Mike leads SquareTrade’s strategic partnerships and is responsible for the development and growth of SquareTrade’s North American retail channel business. In addition to his work with retail partners, Mike oversees SquareTrade Go, an on-demand platform powering smartphone repair, home automation installation and other smart home services and led SquareTrade’s acquisition of iCracked, a leading national on-site, on-demand repair service. Prior to joining SquareTrade, Mike was a management consultant specializing in strategy and financial advisory services. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with degrees in Political Science and Legal Studies. Mike was named one of Dealerscope Magazine's 40 Under 40—40 men and women representing the industry's best and brightest who are recognized for their achievements early in their careers.
VP, Product and Service
Margaret leads the product management team responsible for Squaretrade’s service platform. The team aims to build intuitive user experiences that make complex logistics processes seem easy. Prior to joining Squaretrade, Margaret worked in product management at Snapfish and in various international and billing operations roles at eBay. Margaret holds an undergraduate degree in Modern History from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, and a masters degree in Architectural History from the University of Virginia.
